On August 14, 2024, Professor Phebe Ding (Phebi Chen), Professor of the College of Agriculture, University of Bottra Malaysia, was invited to visit our institute for exchange and made an academic report on Durian and Tropical Fruits. Professor Shao Xingfeng, Executive Dean of the School, more than 30 faculty members and graduate students attended the meeting.

In the report, Professor Phebe focused on the main producing areas, varieties, harvesting methods, storage, transportation and processing forms of durian in Malaysia, and compared it with the post-harvest commercial technology model of durian in Thailand. The commercial application of liquid nitrogen ultra-low temperature freezing technology in Malaysia's export durian was explained in detail. Professor Phebe uses humorous language and rigorous scientific research, so that teachers and students have a deeper understanding of durian harvesting, storage and processing. After the report, Professor Phebe also conducted detailed discussions and exchanges on the research and application of key technologies for quality assurance of major imported fruits in Southeast Asia under the key technology breakthrough plan of Ningbo "Science and Technology Innovation Yongjiang 2035" undertaken by our Institute in 2024.

In order to strengthen the construction of the Zhejiang-Malaysia Joint Laboratory of Agricultural Products Processing and Nutrition and health, Dean Shao also introduced the joint laboratory upgrading plan in detail, and hoped to further strengthen the cooperation between Ningbo University and Malaysia Botra University in the field of agricultural products preservation processing and nutrition and health related research. Carry out bilateral and multi-party academic exchanges, teacher and student visits, bilingual curriculum construction and other activities.

It is reported that Professor Phebe Ding was invited to attend the 2024 academic annual meeting of the Professional Committee of Postpartum Pathology of the Chinese Plant Pathology Society, which was hosted by our hospital. And made a report on the theme of "Ultraviolet-C Irradiation Suppresses Crown Rot in Musa AAA 'Berangan'". Four graduate students from our institute will also arrive at Phebe Professor in early September to carry out a 3-month joint training.
