Professional Background

B.S. Food Science, Yangzhou University, 1999-2003

Ph.D., Food Science, Nanjing Agricultural University, 2003-2008 (Advisor: Prof. Kang Tu)

Visiting fellow, Department of Horticulture, Cornell University, USA, 2013-2014 (Advisor: Prof. Chiristopher B. Watkins)

Research Interests

My main research field is postharvest biology and technology, food storage and transportation. The work done in my laboratory currently focuses on three areas:

  • the relationship and mechanism of soluble      sugar metabolism in fresh fruit (e.g., peach, loquat) under chilling      stress.

  • effects and mechanisms of postharvest      green treatments on controlling decay development in agri-food; Related postharvest      treatments are including essential oils, marine antagonistic microorganism,      heat treatment.

  • comprehensive utilization/valorization of      by-products generated during peach planting and processing, including      young fruit, pomace and kernel of peach
